I have 25+ cashmere sweaters because it is so cold here in the winter. I keep moths away by washing them in the washing machine with 1 cup of amonia, detergent soap and fabric softner in the rinse. After the wash I put them outside if temp is below 32 or in the freezer overnight.

If you see something that looks like a short gray hair - kind of silvery - that is the larva sack. Pick them off and throw away then wash and freeze the garment. These are usually found on the inside of the garment so check both inside and outside often.

Keep your cashmere very clean. I also spray perfume lightly on the inside of my garment.

These things work.
